Why?

In the modern data ecosystem, there’s a lot of hype, a lot of confusion, and a plethora of ever-changing solutions competing for your attention. Whether you’re building a new system or trying to solve some problems with an existing one, it can be daunting to navigate all that noise.

I believe in starting with an understanding of your business and its needs, rather than starting with the latest shiny technology and working backwards to the problem. I’ve been building data infrastructure for almost 20 years, and have a deep specialization in data systems both in theory and in practice. I can bring that specialization to bear on your problem.

Many of my clients use an advisory session as a way to determine if they need additional hands-on-keyboard help.

How It Works

I offer full-day, half-day, and hourly advisory services. During our advisory sessions, I’ll meet with whoever you want, to discuss or review whatever you’d like. We’ll work together to establish a rough agenda for those meetings ahead of time.

At the end of any full- or half-day advisory session, I’ll create a report that summarizes what we talked about and outlines potential next steps, if any.

I typically use an AI notetaker during my advisory sessions, but will always give you the opportunity to opt out of that if you’d prefer.

Scheduling & Rates

Advisory is available on a first-come, first-served basis. I can typically schedule daily advisory less than a week after we’ve signed a contract. Most of my advisory sessions are done virtually, but if you’re on the west coast of the United States, I can come to your office for an elevated fee.
